Client feedback gets lost between AI chats because it lives in the chat where you used it, not with the client. The fix is simple: keep each round of feedback, with the client's reason, in the client's folder, and ask your AI to check it before you start the next brief.

Why does feedback get lost?

Feedback arrives everywhere. An email after the first round. A comment on a slide. A line in the call notes: "they didn't love the darker palette."

Then it gets used once. You paste it into an AI chat, draft round two, and move on. The chat closes. Three months later the same client sends a new brief, someone opens a fresh chat, and the idea they turned down comes back as a "new direction."

Nobody did anything wrong. The feedback just stayed behind in an old conversation.

What's worth keeping?

Not everything. Five things per round:

What was rejected. The concept, line or visual, named plainly.

The client's reason, in their words. "Too corporate" means something different from "too expensive-looking."

What they liked. Rejections are only half the brief.

Who said it. The founder's taste and the marketing lead's taste are not always the same.

What you'll do differently. One line, written while it's fresh.

Where should it live?

In the client's folder, next to the brief, as a plain note. Not inside one AI app's chat history. The next brief might be written in a different tool, by a different person on the team, or by you on a busy day when you won't remember which chat it was in.

How do you use it before the next brief?

Before drafting anything, ask your AI two questions:

"What did this client reject last time, and why?"

"Given that, draft three directions for the new brief."

Check the first answer against the note it came from. Then, when a direction is agreed, save that decision back to the folder. The next round starts from it.

Where Ambient fits

You can do all of this by hand. It works as long as you remember to paste the right note into the right chat.

Ambient takes the pasting out. The client folder stays on your computer, and when you ask the AI you use about that client, it gets the relevant feedback and shows which note it came from. When the session closes, its summary is saved to Ambient, so you pick up where you left off, even in a different AI. It works with Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor and any AI app that connects through MCP.

Use any AI. Own your work.

A short video later this week shows it with an invented client and invented files: one question about what the client rejected, the source, the save, and a different AI building on it.
