Terms of Service

Ambient is a desktop application built and operated by Aaraayu Business Solutions LLP, Mysore, Karnataka, India ("we", "us"). These terms govern your use of the Ambient application and the letsambient.com website.

Paid licenses are sold through Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. When you buy, the transaction — including payment processing, invoicing, and applicable sales tax or VAT — is handled by Lemon Squeezy as the seller of record. Their terms and privacy policy apply to the transaction itself. We never see or store your card details.

A paid license is personal to you, runs for one year from purchase, and activates Ambient on one machine. You can move your license to a new machine from inside the app whenever you need to; one license is active on one machine at a time. License keys may not be shared, resold, or published.

Everything you put into Ambient — documents, notes, voice recordings, the memory it builds — lives on your machine and belongs to you. We claim no rights over it, we do not receive copies of it, and uninstalling Ambient takes nothing from you: your files remain where they always were.

The free tier is Ambient with limits (currently one watched folder and up to one hundred documents, with caps on certain operations). We may adjust free-tier limits over time; we will not reduce what a paid license already includes during its term.

Paid plans renew annually. You can turn off auto-renew at any time — your license stays fully active until its natural expiry date, and you simply are not charged again. Turning off auto-renew is the only "cancellation" there is: nothing is clawed back, and no refund is owed for the remainder of a running year (see section 7 for the money-back window). If you bought at an introductory price with a locked renewal rate, that rate applies for as long as you renew without a gap.

Every purchase includes a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase (and each renewal includes the same window from the renewal charge). Details are in our Refund Policy, which is part of these terms. After the window closes there is no proration: your license runs its full year. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable statutory rights you hold, including consumer cooling-off rights in the EU and UK.

Use Ambient lawfully and don't attack it: no reverse-engineering the licensing system, no circumventing activation or plan limits, no using the software to infringe others' rights. We may deactivate a license key that is being shared, resold, or used to abuse the service; where reasonably possible we will contact you first.

Your license includes application updates released during its term. Features may evolve; we will not remove a capability material to what you bought during your current license year.

Ambient includes an optional feature that lets the AI you use on the web reach the Ambient vault on your machine through an encrypted connection you enable with one click. It is off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time. You are responsible for which AI services you choose to connect.

Ambient is provided "as is" to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we are not responsible for decisions you or your AI make based on retrieved content. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to Ambient is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will post the change here with a new "last updated" date, and material changes will be flagged in the app or by email where we reasonably can. Continuing to use Ambient after a change means you accept it.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Mysore, Karnataka have jurisdiction — except where the law of your country of residence grants you mandatory consumer protections and venue, which remain yours.
